Using Friendly URL Names
When you create a new iZotz project, it gets assigned a randomly generated ID number. This ID number is then used in a URL to reach your project on the web. Using the Friendly URL Name tool you can create user friendly URL names and replace those random ID's, making it much easier to remember your project URL's.

Using Stand Alone Webpages
Flexible Deployment Options to Better Leverage Your Content

ll izotz modules can run as stand alone webpages. Try it. While in the izotz administrator, click a module and select View in Browser. The module will open as a stand alone web application in a browser window.

This feature gives you some really flexible options when it comes to building things for the web. Normally you'll integrate webpage modules directly into your websites by adding them to a navigation menu. Then, users access your modules by clicking the nav menu link. The module then appears within the website itself, integrated into the website user interface.

However, there are plenty of times when it might be better to have a module run in an independent browser window, separate from the user interface of a the website. For example, the izotz Tutorial, Online Magazine, and Community Forums are really just modules in the izotz parent website. But when you click those links...they pop up into their own browser window, have their own user interface, and act like independent websites. Another example is the izotz page that describes all the available modules. Within the izotz home website, that page appears integrated into the website itself. But if you click the Template link on the independent website store page...it pops open into it's own window with a different user interface. The Contact Us page does the same thing. Depending on where you come across it...on the website, in the administrator, or in the administration tool menu...it either opens it's own window, or gets integrated into the website.

This all gives you tremendous flexibility when it comes to deploying your modules and web content. Think about it for a while, and you might see how running some of your modules as stand alone webpages might in fact be a lot better than integrating them into a website. Or sometimes maybe you'll do BOTH. When you combine this stand alone feature with the ability to place a module into MULTIPLE websites...you've got some pretty powerful tools at your fingertips.

Stand Alone Webpages and Appearance Skins

Normally when you run a module from within a website, it inherits the appearance skin that has been assigned to the website. This is just as it should be. Afterall, you usually want all your modules and pages to look the same.

When you run a module as a standalone webpage, you can assign whatever appearance skin to it that you want. When the module is viewed in the browser, it uses the skin you assign. This lets you easily create alternative user interface designs for modules that you might want to deploy in varied scenarios.
